The World Human Rights & Development (WHRD) is a not-for-profit organization based in New York City. The World Human Rights & Development was founded in 1997 to emphasis and campaign for education, health care, shelter, food and legal support for vulnerable people. WHRD works primarily within the Bangladeshi community living in New York City. The organization aims to work in the following areas:
organize non-political, social and cultural programs
help Bangladeshi community to integrate into the American society
educate people against fanatic religious believes
educate people about the domestic violence
educate people about the danger of climate change
provide counseling, job referrals, job training
help rehabilitate family and community members
fight for equal opportunity and human rights
help disadvantages families, undocumented and prison-locked immigrants
secure the national interest of USA by fighting terrorism, etc.
