Muktadhara Foundation Inc. works with Bangladeshi community in New York in the field of arts, culture, and ethnic awareness. It is a sister organization of Muktadhara, Inc.
Since 1991, Muktadhara Foundation, New York, has been involved in promoting Bangla culture and literature in USA. Since 1992, it has been organizing Ekushey (February 21) in front of the United Nations. Muktadhara has played an important role in UNESCO’s declaration of February 21 as the “International Mother Language Day“. The organization has dispatched Bangla books to many libraries in the United States. Since 1992, Muktadhara has been organizing book fairs, cultural programs, film festivals, with the aim of promoting the awareness of Bangla culture represented by Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. For the the development of second generation of Bangladeshi community, Muktadhara organizes literary and cultural programs for children and the youth.
Over the years, the foundation has organized book fairs and Bangla cultural programs in Los Angeles, Dallas, and in New Jersey.
