Hamilton Bangla School is a combined effort of the Bangladeshi-Canadians. The goal of the school is to introduce the Bangladeshi cultural roots to the next generation and to introduce Bangla as a second language of communication for them. Established in 2002, in collaboration with the district of Hamilton-Wentworth School Board, the school is conducted during Summer and Winter vacations. Summer classes for 2008 are from July 2nd – 30th. Children learning the language and the culture of Bangladesh are usually of the age 5 and above. Each class has a formal language period followed by a recess and a cultural period.
