Founded in 2012, the Canada Bangladesh Education Trust (CBET) is a registered charity organization with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) that aims to support financially challenged students in Bangladesh and Canada with sound academic records, to help improve their socio-economic status. CBET strives to give scholarships to college students in all the 450 sub-districts in Bangladesh and colleges in Canada.
CBET aims to make a difference in the lives of those who are not fortunate enough to continue their education due to financial struggle. By aiding them financially, the organization strives to help them establish in society and enable them be to contribute to the country with their earned skills and knowledge.
Achievements:
With received donation, CBET awarded 80 scholarships, $150/each, a total of $12,000 in 2013-2014. In 2014, CBET high school appreciation award was given to ten high school graduates from different high schools in Ottawa-Gatineau region at the total cost of $1500. CBET is committed to help them who wants to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and for their families.
