Bangladeshi American Foundation of Albany (BAFA) is a Bangladeshi community organization in Albany, New York. It was founded in 2015 as a membership based organization. Anyone from Bangladeshi community can be a member of Bangladeshi American Foundation of Albany for $10/year. The organization has a executive committee and elected Board of Trustee.
Picnic, cultural event, raffle draw, Bangla New Year etc. are some of the events are organized by BAFA.
Objectives of the Foundation are the following:
to promote Bangladeshi culture among Bangladeshi second generation living in Albany
to create an environment appropriate for proper upbringing for Bangladeshi kids
to build a strong bond among the community members, in particular among new generation of Bangladeshis
to organize social, cultural and religious events
to do social work, like helping the sick, helping in wedding, doctor appointment, funeral arrangement etc.
to perform as an information sharing platform for all Bangladeshi of Albany
to promote democratic and pluralistic values in Bangladeshi society.
