Bangladesh Society Election Commission is an independent body who oversees the election of the Bangladesh Society, Inc. in New York City every two years. This is not an independent registered organization in NYC but was created by the constitution of Bangladesh Society, Inc. Bangladesh Society Election Commission has been formed to make sure that the election of Bangladesh Society, Inc. is conducted in a free, fair and peaceful environment.
Bangladesh Society Election Commission has following responsibilities:
collects money from the candidates;
publishes candidates list;
finalizes voter list;
interprets election by law;
sets up polling centers;
ensures security;
counts votes;
declares winners;
recounts votes if such situation arises, etc.
