Bangabandhu Parishad, USA, Inc. (বà¦à§à¦à¦¬à¦¨à§à¦§à§ পরিষদ, à¦à¦à¦à¦¸à¦) is a Bangladeshi political support group for Bangladesh Awami League in the USA. Formed in 1997, Bangabandhu Parishad, USA is a not-for-profit organization based in New York City. The Parishad was founded by a group of Bangladeshi-Americans who wanted to create an organization that would promote Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman‘s ideals of democracy, secularism, and social justice. The Parishad has since grown into an active organization with chapters in few cities in the United States.
The aim and policy of Bangabandhu Parishad, USA is to promote the life, works and ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh as well as act as a support group of Bangladesh Awami League. The Parishad also works to preserve and promote Bangabandhu’s ideals and legacy among the Bangladeshi diaspora and new generations. The Parishad believes that Bangabandhu’s vision of a free, just, and prosperous Bangladesh is still relevant today. The Parishad believes that Bangabandhu’s ideals are essential for building a just and prosperous society.
Bangabandhu Parishad Activities:
Commemorate Bangabandhu’s birthday and other important dates in Bangladesh’s history
Holds public events such as rallies, conventions, road marches, and press releases to educate the public about Bangabandhu’s life and legacy
Promote Bangabandhu’s ideology, raise awareness, build support for Bangladesh in the United States
Organize political discussion, meeting, talk, public gathering etc.
Challenge anti-Bangabandhu activities to protect the idea from the forces who seek to undermine it
