Bronx Puja Committee, Inc. is a not-for-profit Bangladeshi Hindu religious organization, in Bronx, New York. The organization’s principal aim is to teach spiritual and religious teachings of Hindu religion to new generations and encourage them to practice Hindu culture, tradition and language through active participation.
Year long, Bronx Puja Committee observes various Pujas, such as, Saraswati Puja, Durga Puja, Basonti Puja, Ganesh Puja, Lakshmi Puja, etc. It also has monthly or biweekly chanting session for adults and children in New York. The organization is in the process of building its own temple in Bronx with the help the community.
Apart from religious events, Bronx Puja Committee organizes social events like picnic, group travel, sports in order to keep a strong bond among the community. As a not-for-profit, most of its works and activities are performed voluntarily by its members or well-wishers. The committee was founded in 2006.
