Bengalis of New York (BONY) is a community organization of Bangladeshi diaspora based in New York City, USA. The mission of Bengalis of New York (BONY) is to celebrate Bengali culture and people through storytelling, community building, and discourse to empower the diaspora further. According to BONY, it is also a “platform to highlight stories about the growing Bengali diaspora and share stories and experiences lived by Bengali people in the 21st century.” Bengalis of New York (BONY) aims to represent the Bangladeshi community positively, highlight their struggles and accomplishments, dispel stereotypes and misconceptions.
The organization works consists of the young Bangladeshi community who loves to know and work with Bangladeshi culture, lifestyle, entertainment, food, and related issues. The members write blog posts, organize events, assist each other, and help build a multicultural New York by connecting communities.
Bengalis of New York (BONY) has a marketing wing to sell online items related to its mission.
