The Sumaira Foundation aims to generate global awareness and offer support for patients with Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) – a rare autoimmune disease affecting the optic nerves and spinal chord. The foundation was founded in 2015 by Sumaira Ahmed – a Bangladeshi American living in Boston.

Raise awareness about Neuromyelitis Optica disease
Organize fundraising event
Provide information about NMO doctors, hospitals
Develop support network for patients and their families
Contribute to research and development
