Bongomata Parishad, USA

Bongomata Parishad, USA (BangaMata Parishad, বঙ্গমাতা পরিষদ, Mother of the Bangladeshi Nation) is an organization of Bangladeshi community in New York to commemorate the memory of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib – the wife of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mother of Sheikh Hasina. The organization emphasizes on the contribution and role of Bongomata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib to the independence struggle as wife of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during the Independence movement of Bangladesh. The group organizes discussion meetings and prayers to Bongomata annually.
Most of members of Bongomata Parishad, USA is supporters of Bangladesh Awami League living in the USA.
