The Friends of Bangladesh is a registered charity committed to help and promote self reliance amongst poor and under privileged people in Bangladesh. It was established in 1981 with a mission to help the most disadvantaged and poor people in Bangladesh. It has helped thousands of men, women and children by supporting orphanages, setting up schools, vocational training centers, giving micro loans for small businesses and stipends to students many of whom have now become self reliant. It has also made contributions to disaster funds in Bangladesh. It has now 6 well established projects in Bangladesh. The Friends of Bangladesh have 3 British MPs and 1 MEP as patrons. It now has members in all regions of UK and USA. New branches are expected to open in Canada, Australia, Europe, Africa as well as in Russia in the future.
